Overview

A university degree or diploma, preferably in systems engineering, electronics, information science, or computer science, is desirable.
Desirable certifications in relevant subjects: (e.g., CCNET/CCNA/CCNP/ITIL/Prince 2)
Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in the ICT area including experience as helpdesk, network maintenance and information security.
Experience in using computers and office software packages (MS Office 2010 and/or more recent versions).
Experience in managing Active Directory, Windows servers, and enterprise-level network infrastructure.
Experience in algorithms, programming logic, data organization and database systems is desirable.
Full knowledge of the Spanish language.
Intermediate level English will be an advantage.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) is a United Nations agency responsible for infrastructure, procurement, and project management (General Assembly Resolution 65/176 of 2010). iii) Project Management: UNOPS manages more than a thousand humanitarian, development and peacebuilding projects annually for various partners, ensuring quality, efficiency and results that meet the highest standards.

UNOPS’ work seeks environmental, social, and economic sustainability, contributing to progress toward equity and the common good in the countries where it operates, thereby promoting improved living conditions for the most vulnerable people. UNOPS has a presence in 23 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. In Nicaragua, UNOPS has been providing support in the implementation of health infrastructure projects with the Government and various International Development Banks. The assistance includes, among other things, capacity building and implementation of investment programs and projects, development and/or review of investment studies, final designs and studies, and procurement strategies, bidding and contracting processes, infrastructure works management and works supervision.

Functional Responsibilities
Manage ICT infrastructure and services, ensuring quality, efficiency, and availability.
– Maintenance: Ensure proactive maintenance of networks (LAN/WAN), servers, data centers, and any other ICT components, including efficient incident resolution. – Performance and Availability: Guarantee performance that meets business needs and take the necessary measures to ensure high availability of infrastructure and services.

Provide quality, proactive, and agile helpdesk support.
– Quality: Guarantee quality helpdesk support, with a positive attitude focused on results and service, and with a spirit of trying to do better each time (continuous improvement).

Agility: Ensure proper prioritization of incidents/requests while being flexible in the face of unforeseen incidents or changes.
Ensure the security of information at all times, including confidentiality and availability.
– Availability: Ensure that all information is backed up according to procedures agreed upon with the business, and conduct regular recovery exercises to guarantee process reliability and data integrity. – Documentation: Ensure accurate technical documentation, including inventories and processes, is continuously updated and available in the designated repositories.

Provide implementation and evaluation support for ICT projects from HQ and basic ICT support for UNOPS projects in the region, and ensure proper user training in the use of ICT tools and promote effective adoption.
Implementation: Manage the correct implementation and subsequent evaluation of ICT projects promoted from UNOPS headquarters.
User training: Following the user training plan agreed with the office and the ICT coordinator; provide courses and documentation that ensure users are enabled to use ICT tools in the most appropriate and efficient way.
Provide specific support for the development of in-house tools for data analysis and process automation.
– Participate in identifying and extracting data from existing office tools. – Contribute to the development of dashboards using Google Data Studio and database connections within Google Workspace.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Contract type, level and duration
Type of contract: Individual Contractor Agreement (LICA) (regular monthly contract)

Regular Monthly Contract: This contract is established in the modality of a regular monthly contract, that is, a continuous provision of services is required during the contract period, with payments associated with the contract being made at the end of each calendar month.

Contract level: LICA 5-. The contract salary scale will be defined according to the profile of the selected candidate. (Local contract).

Contract Duration: Indefinite, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds and/or satisfactory performance.
